JAMMU/ KATHUA, June 4: Laxmi Cricket Club defeated Jammu Tawi Warriors by a huge margin of 105 runs in the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) under the overall supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Winning the toss and batting first, Laxmi Cricket Club scored a decent total of 206 runs in the stipulated 30 overs. Pardeep Bali top scored with magnificent 57 runs off 49 balls with the help of 8 boundaries, while Nipun Verma contributed valuable 32 runs to the total. For Jammu Tawi Warriors, Waqar was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 wickets, while Harjot and Fapzul claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Jammu Tawi Warriors bundled out for 101 runs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 105 runs. Aaqib top scored with 35 runs. Sameer Khajuria was the wrecker-in-chief for Laxmi Cricket Club, scalping 4 important wickets by conceding 9 runs in his 2 overs, while Kulvinder took 3 wickets and Sant Baksh claimed 2. Pardeep Bali of Laxmi Cricket Club was declared as man of the match.
Meanwhile, at Sports Stadium Kathua, Death Warriors Kathua defeated Kathua Super Kings by 6 wickets.
Kathua Super Kings scored 107 runs in 21.2 overs. Manish and Udhay contributed 26 and 20 runs to the total respectively. For Death Warriors, Raghav was the star performer, who took 8 wickets by conceding 23 runs in his 6 overs, while Rahul and Sourav claimed one wicket each.
Death Warriors chased the target in 17.1 overs by losing 4 wickets to win the match by 6 wickets. Rahul (24) and Abhi (22) were the main contributors. Vansh took 3 wickets, while Vardaan claimed 1 wicket for Kathua Super Kings.
