LC adopts resolutions of PDP, NC members

JAMMU, Feb 25: Two resolutions were adopted by the Upper House out of seven moved by Members on different subjects.
The Members who moved the resolutions included Nurboo Gialchan, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy, Naeem Akhtar, Naresh Gupta, Bashir Magray, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri and Dr. Shahnaz Ganai.
The resolution of Nurboo Gialchan pertaining to establishment of special Police Range for improving policing in Ladakh region was withdraw by the Member after getting assurance from the Miniter of State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo. He said Government was already working on it.
Aga Syed Ahmad Rizvi, Devindar Singh Rana, G.N.Monga, B.R. Kundal and Sheikh Ghulam Rasool spoke in support of the resolution.
The House adopted the Resolution moved by Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy pertaining to making Urdu language compulsory subject for all Public Service Commission/Service Selection Board tests and examinations for selection of candidates in services especially in Judiciary, Revenue Police and other relevant department besides in all Government and Private educational institutions in the territory of Jammu and Kashmir up to 8th standard.
The House also adopted the Resolution moved by Syed Naeem Akhtar pertaining to preserving and restoring the old Secretariat Complex Shergarhi Srinagar on the pattern of Mubarak Mandi Jammu.
The Members who spoke on the resolution included Ajat Shatru Singh, Janhangir Hussain Mir, Dr. S.Bashir Ahmad Veeri and Sheikh Ghulam Rasool.
Naresh Kumar Gupta after getting assurance from the Government withdrew his Resolution pertaining to granting one time exemption in favour all those employees appointed/selected in other districts of the State by way of their selection made on the basis of Inter District Recruitment Policy of the Government.  Sheikh Ghulam Rasool spoke on the Resolution.
Bashir Ahmad Magray also withdrew the resolution regarding saving of river Jehlum from growing pollution on getting assurance from the Government. Dr. S. Bashir Ahmad Veeri and Ajat Shatru Singh spoke on the Resolution.
Dr.S Bashir Ahmad Veeri also withdrew the resolution regarding claim of losses suffered by the State of Jammu and Kashmir due to Construction of Ranjit Sagar Dam and Indus Water Treaty (IWT) from Government of Punjab and Government of India respectively, after getting satisfactory reply from the Government.
Dr. Shahnaz Ganai also withdrew the Resolution pertaining to starting of work on Jammu-Poonch railway link after getting the assurance from the Government. Ajat Shatru Singh and Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri spoke on the Resolution.
