LC privilege panel gives final opportunity to Taj

JAMMU, Mar 22: The Committee on Privilege, Legislative Council which met under the chairmanship of Ajat Shatru Singh (MLC) has given last opportunity to the Minister for Medical Education, Sports and Youth Affairs Taj Mohi-ud-Din to file reply in his defence before April 10, 2013, failing which the committee will proceed further as per rules.
The Committee which met here today took up the privilege notice of the Sayed Mohd Rafiq Shah of NPP and Murtaza Ahmed Khan of PDP against Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Minister for Medical Education and Sports, took serious note of the attitude of the Minister for not filing any reply in his defence and not giving any plausible reason for the same even expiry of the expanded time.
The Committee decided that Taj Mohi-ud-Din be given final opportunity to file the reply in his defence by or before April 10, 2013 failing which it will be presumed that he has nothing to say in his defence and the committee will proceed further at its own as per rules.
