LD Hospital equipped with ICU facility

SRINAGAR, Apr 11:  Kashmir’s most busy women and children hospital, the Lal Ded Hospital, has been equipped, for the first time, with ICU facility for the betterment of patient care. The three bedded ICU unit was inaugurated by Minister for Medical Education, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today.
MLA, Amirakadal and former Minister, Nasir Aslam, Principal GMC, Srinagar, Dr. Rafiq Pampori, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Commissioner, SMC, Dr. G.N Qasba, Medical Superintendent, LD Hospital, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad besides other senior officers and doctors were present on the occasion.
The Minister also inaugurated and extended ward of the labour room, which would add a bunch of newly furbished 16 beds to the labour room of the hospital.
Later, the Minister reviewed the progress on the 200 bedded extended block of the hospital. He asked the engineers to work round the clock to complete the project so that the patients get much needed relief. He also advised them to complete all engineering works at the block before it is handed over to the hospital administration.
The minister also reviewed the relocation plan for the shopkeepers whose shops would be relocated due to the extension of the hospital.  He directed identification of appropriate place for them immediately so that they do not suffer on account of their relocation.
Representatives of several Engineering Wings including R&B Kashmir, JKPCC, MED, UEED besides hospital administration were present in the meeting.
