LEAD announces Annual Mahotsav in Jammu on Dec 21-22

JAMMU, Dec 16: LEAD is set to organize its second Annual Mahotsav – Jammu Kashmir Ladakh (JKL) on December 21 and 22, 2024, at GGM Science College Ground, Jammu.
The two-day event will promote the themes of Swadeshi, Swawlambhan, and Sanskriti while showcasing the diverse cultural heritage, entrepreneurial spirit, and indigenous products of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
Sharing this information during a press conference, here today, Harinder Gupta, Board Member of LEAD, said that the Mahotsav will feature over 100 stalls exhibiting local handicrafts, cuisines, and startup ventures. The event will also include cultural exhibitions, adventure activities and competitions for students, ensuring active community participation. With an anticipated footfall of thousands, the Mahotsav promises to be a grand celebration that highlights the region’s untapped potential, he added.
Emphasizing the event’s alignment with national initiatives like vocal for local, Make in India, and Startup India, Sanjeev Sharma, Media In charge, stated that Mahotsav 2024 serves as a platform to empower local businesses, nurture entrepreneurship, and inspire self-reliance among the youth and community. “The Mahotsav reflects our commitment to promote sustainable development, encouraging innovation, and preserving cultural heritage,” he said.
Signature events planned for the Mahotsav include SABRANG (Programme for school and colleges students), Gatka (Sikh martial arts demonstration), Khel Utsav (sports competitions), Jangam (folk Shiv Parvati Vivaah Katha), Rang Tarang and Natyotsav (cultural and theatrical showcases), Chajja (Lohri Utsav), and adventure activities.
LEAD-LJK Economic Growth And Development Dialogue, is a platform, first of its kind, a citizens’ initiative of like-minded individuals and professionals working towards sustainable development of the Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir.
Among others present in the press conference included Board Members of LEAD, Surinder Mohan Gupta, CA Rajeev Gupta, and Vikram Gujral, along with key members such as Parveen Pargal, Karan Sharma, Vishal Abrol, Gaurav Abrol, and Gaurav Gupta, who collectively reiterated their commitment to the success of Mahotsav 2024.
