Lead futures down as global trend weakens, low domestic demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 24:  Lead fell 1.90 per cent to Rs 110.90 per kg in futures trade today after participants reduced exposure amid a weak trend overseas and sluggish domestic demand.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in August month contract was trading Rs 2.15, or 1.90 per cent, down at Rs 110.90 per kg in a business turnover of 974 lots.
Also, metal for delivery September month shed Rs 1.95, or 1.71 per cent to Rs 112 per kg in 53 lots.
Analysts said weakness in base metals at the London Metal Exchange amid deepening concerns about weak Chinese economic growth and muted from battery-makers in the domestic spot market kept pressure on metal prices. (PTI)
