NEW DELHI, May 17: Lead prices rose 0.25 per cent to Rs 158.70 per kg in futures trading today as speculators built up fresh positions, taking positive cues from the spot market on increased demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in May month edged up by 40 paise, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 158.70 per kg in business turnover of 329 lots.
The metal for delivery in June contract was trading higher by a similar margin to Rs 159.45 per kg in 7 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in lead futures to fresh positions created by traders due to uptick in demand from battery-makers in the physical markets. (PTI)
