UDHAMPUR, Apr 19: A lecture on anger and stress management was conducted at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), here today.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Headquarters J&K VK Singh delivered the lecture on the topic through power point presentation and briefed around 400 police personnel including staff, BRTC (lady constables) trainees and other senior officers of SKPA. He also explained them how to acquire emotional intelligence skills for effective performance of professional and personal commitments.
Singh deliberated in detail on different aspects like self awareness, self regulation, empathy and relationship management.
The purpose of the lecture was to acquaint the officers and officials as to how to manage anger and stress while performing their duties in difficult, stressful and adverse situations.
The main objective of the lecture delivered by Singh, who was the chief guest on the occasion, was also to enable the police force to dissociate themselves from the stress and strains and to propel their professional capabilities ahead.
ADGP stressed upon the participants that anger and stress is linked to their lives and the police personnel need to be sensitized about such an important issue which can help them both in their professional and personal lives. He further advised the participants to get rid of biases in them and ensure free and impartial policing.
Varinder Sharma, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range and Shailendra Kumar Mishra, SSP Udhampur, along with senior police officers also attended the lecture.
At the outset, the Director SKPA Udhampur Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria, IGP presented the welcome address.
