RAJOURI, Apr 15: A lecture on translation from Arabic to Indian languages was organized by the Department of Arabic at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri.
Professor Qutubuddin, faculty member of the Arabic Department at JNU, delivered a detailed talk on the importance, principles, regulations and methodology of translating from Arabic to Indian languages.
On the occasion, Dr Affan shared his experiences related to translation. Dr Rafiq Anjum, in his presidential address shed light on the subtleties of translation. Dr Liaqat Nayyar and Dr Asif Malik Alimi participated as guests and expressed their views.
Dr Shams Kamal Anjum conducted the program as the master of ceremonies while Dr Manzar Alam delivered the vote of thanks.
Other faculty members who attended the program include Dr Muhammad Azam, Dr Ibrahim and Dr Asif Malik from Arabic Department; Dr Ramzan and Dr Akhtar Hussain from the Persian Department; Dr Ayub and Dr Mushtaq Siddiqui from the Urdu Department; and Dr Waqar, Dr Sajid and Dr Manzoor from Gojri and Pahari Departments. Students from these departments also participated in the program.
