JAMMU, Oct 29: Under new initiative to upgrade the knowledge of students, Central Govt Pensioners’ Welfare Association (CGPWA) here today organised first lecture on ‘Medical Science and Yoga’ at BALGRAN, charitable Home for Destitute Children in Channi Rama.
The hour-long lecture was delivered by Dr. S.C Puri, former Director Grade Chief Scientist of CSIR, Jammu now IIIM on ‘Confluence of Science with Yoga.’
Explaining introduction and research studies on medical science on Sahaja Yoga, Dr. Puri said that ‘Kundalini’ (a system of meditation) is the evolutionary, feminine energy of divine Mother which nourishes, balances and purifies. He explained that “Kundalini exists in a latent form in every human being, residing in the sacrum bone in three and a half coils.”
“When awakened, Kundalini travels upwards through central channel, subtly and painlessly cleansing and integrating all the Chakras, emerging at the apex of the skull and manifesting as a blissful breeze-like sensation on the head and hands,” Dr. Puri maintained.
He co-related meditation with neuroscience and said that the mental silence is beneficial for the brain.
A meditation session was also held on the occasion. About 120 persons including students and staffers took part in the mediation session.
Secretary BALGRAN, V.K Raina was also present on this occasion.
