JAMMU, Nov 4: Department of Civil Engineering, Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) organized a guest lecture on “Importance of Skill Development in Engineering Profession” for 3rd semester Civil Engineering students.
Rajnish Magotra, Coordinator Students Affairs welcomed and Prof (Dr) A K Shrivastav, Director YCET presented bouquet to
PK Nanda, retired Executive Engineer from Hydraulic Wing of J&K Government, who is presently consultant in Gayatri Infrastructure LTD, engaged in Ring Road Project in Jammu, was the resource person.
In his lecture, Nanda enumerated various types of challenges, which are being faced by youths now-a-days vis-à-vis conflicts of ego, under importance to loads, lack of interest in career building, taking instructions and lack of respect for seniors.
He also briefed the students about civil engineering aspects, like pace with the new technologies. He stressed on the need for advance training, knowledge sharing and its management for deeper understanding. The students asked good number of queries before the resource person and thoroughly enjoyed intensive interaction.
Kamal Kishore, HoD Civil Engineering, Rajnish Magotra, Coordinator Students Affairs, Prof (Dr) A K Shrivastav, Director YCET, Bodh Raj Verma, Chief Coordinator and faculty members were present on the occasion.
