Lecture series on Indian Knowledge System concludes

JAMMU, Mar 26: A one-day national lecture series on Indian Knowledge System (IKS) organized at Shri Ranbir Campus, Central Sanskrit University was concluded here today.
The objective of this lecture series was to explore the diverse dimensions of Indian knowledge traditions and highlight their relevance in the modern context.
The program commenced with a scholarly welcome address by the Associate Director of the Campus, Prof Satish Kumar Kapoor.
In his address, he extended a warm welcome to all the esteemed guests and emphasized the timeless significance of the Indian Knowledge System.
His speech set the tone for an intellectually stimulating and engaging lecture series, enhancing the enthusiasm and curiosity of the participants.
The event was skillfully moderated by Hari Shankar Pandey, who ensured the smooth conduct of the proceedings.
Several distinguished scholars presented their thoughts on different disciplines of IKS.
Dr Puran Chand Joshi spoke on Vedic Studies, elaborating on the scientific and spiritual aspects of the Vedas.
Dr Ram Das Sharma delivered a lecture on Jyotish Shastra (Astrology), discussing the mathematical foundations of Indian astrology and its correlation with modern astronomy.
Prof J N Walia addressed Education Shastra, comparing India’s traditional education system with contemporary pedagogical methods.
Prof Balram Shukla shed light on Sahitya Shastra (Literary Studies), discussing the rich tradition of Sanskrit literature and its poetic principles.
Prof Shreedhar Mishra presented insights on Vyakarana Shastra (Grammar Studies), explaining Panini’s grammatical structure and its applicability in modern linguistics.
Lastly, Prof Sukant Senapati elaborated on Darshan Shastra (Philosophy), discussing key concepts of Indian philosophical traditions, including Nyaya, Samkhya, Vedanta and Yoga.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Pramod Shukl.
