JAMMU, May 2: A book release function “Kalami Soom Nath Pandit (Leela Sumran) and Kalami Soom Nath Pandit (Gazal Sumran)” was organized at Abinav Theater Jammu this evening.
A galaxy of scholars and prominent people attended the function. The book release was followed by singing of Bajans and Gazals of Soom Nath Pandit (Soom). The prominent singers who performed during the function were Daljit Manhas, Chain Singh, GL Walli, . Virender, Ms. Vijay Kaul, . Kaka Ji and Prem Nath.
Jaya Devi was the chief guest during the function. The function started with lighting of lamp by Shri Soom Nath Pandit and Smt. Jaya Devi, followed by an introduction about the books and the author. Prominent citizens and large gathering of devotees were present during the function. The books were highly acclaimed by the speakers and they reveal about the spiritual dept of the writer.
The Gazal Surman of the poet depicts the influence of Rishi and Sofi cult of Kashmir over his writings, they added.
