Legal awareness camp for women held

SAMBA, Aug 26: A legal awareness camp on the subject ‘Rights of Women and their protection from Domestic Violence’ was held at Child Development Project Office in ICDS block Purmandal, here today.
The camp was held under the chairmanship of Inder Singh, chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District and Sessions Judge), Samba and SS Bali, chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Sub Judge, Samba.
Munsiff Samba, Geeta Kumari and Advocates Ajay Gupta and Rakesh Bhagat apprised the Anganwari workers, helpers and supervisors of ICDS block Purmandal about their legal rights and protection of women from domestic violence.
Speaking on the occasion, CDPO, Purmandal, Seema Bharti, highlighted the importance of the awareness among the women about their legal rights and the role of anganwari workers in it.
Being grass root level functionaries, the anganwari workers can prove as the most powerful work force in this regard, she added.
