Legal awareness camps held

JAMMU, Sept 27: Legal awareness camps were held at Reasi and Doda districts.
District Legal Services Authority, Reasi organized two legal awareness camps/classes at Zorawar Singh Government Degree College and Government Boys Higher Secondary School under the chairmanship of YP Kotwal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal, District and Sessions Judge, Reasi.
Speaking on the occasion, Kotwal threw light on Rights of Children, Child Labour Act, Juvenile Justice Act, Right of Children to free and compulsory education and other legislations made for the care, protection and development of children and different schemes launched by NALSA and SLSA for the benefit of people.
Kalpana Revo, CJM Reasi, Archana Charak, Munsiff JMIC Reasi, KK Dubey, president, Bar Association, RK Sharma, VK Sharma, PD Singh, advocates, Prof Jeet Angral, Principal, Zorawar Singh Government Degree College, Madan Mohan Khajuria, Principal, Government Boys Higher Secondary School, besides many others also spoke on the occasion.
A legal literacy class was organized by Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Doda under the chairmanship of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee.
On the occasion the speakers aware the students about legal services activities and legal literacy. Publicity material was also distributed among the gathering.
Present on the occasion were Principal, Government Degree College Doda Prof ZA Hashmi, College NCC Commandant Prof Babu Ram Sharma, Kewal Krishan Manhas, Arshad Hafeez, Baber Hussan-ud-Din, advocates and Ghulam Hussain Wani, Legal Aid Clerk of TLSC Office Doda.
