SAMBA, May 29: The enforcement wing of Legal Metrology Department imposed a fine of Rs 8900 on the defaulters in Bari Brahmana and Kartholi area of district Samba today.
The team led by Assistant Controller, Anita Sharma and assisted by Inspectors M M Qazi and Narinder Makhnotra conducted surprise market checking at Raya Morh, Kartholi, Birpur and Bari Brahmana. Various commercial establishments were checked. Five cases were booked for various violations against a POP unit, sweet shop, biscuit manufacturing unit, poultry shop and electrical goods showroom.
The inspection staff imposed and recovered on spot penalty of Rs 8900 from the defaulters. This month a total 21 such cases were booked and a fine of Rs 37,700 was realised from the defaulters.
