SRINAGAR, July 21: A 5 member delegation of Legislators led by Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi, Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly, met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Civil Secretariat today.
The delegation requested Governor to implement judgment of the Supreme Court for facilitating reservation in promotions of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates; exemption from e-tendering in their respective constituencies; early completion of Dangithal, Dawar and Ashora bridges; and opening of Drass-Gurez road via Mushkoh Valley for locals and tourists.
Governor assured the delegation that the issues raised by them would receive due consideration. The members of the delegation comprised Ajaz Ahmed Khan, MLA Gool Arnas; Asgar Ali Karbalaie, MLA Kargil; Dina Nath, MLA Chenani; and Deldan Namgail, MLA Nubra.
Meanwhile, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, Advisor to Governor, had extended discussions with Governor about the to date status of various important developmental schemes relating to the departments under his charge. He also drew attention to certain important administrative issues which call for early decisions in the State Administrative Council.
Governor discussed with Ganai issues relating to the entire arena of school, college and university education and possible initiatives to be taken for regaining the trust of youth and restoring the functioning of University of Kashmir to its erstwhile esteem.
