Legislators call on Governor

JAMMU : In separate meetings, Mr. Ravinder Kumar Raina, MLA, Nowshera, and Mr. Shakti Raj Parihar, MLA, Doda, called on Mr. N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today.

Mr. Raina apprised the Governor about the pending demands for the provision of sufficient funds for the construction and renovation of the colleges and sub-District Hospital buildings at Nowshera and Sunderbani; early start of Trauma Hospital at Sunderbani; stationing of one PMGSY unit at Nowshera for effective monitoring of the roads constructed under PMGSY and enhancement in funds under BADP. He also put forth issues relating to staff strengthening in the newly created administrative units and other government departments; restoration of historical sites; constitution of a Refugee Board for addressing problems of POK refugees residing in Nowshera etc.

Mr. Parihar apprised the Governor about the need for opening a Campus of the Jammu Central University at Doda; establishment of two Kendriya Vidyalyas in the district; construction of a defence road from Bhagwah to Daldraman; an alternate highway from Batote to Kishtwar; staff strengthening in all the health institutions of Doda district and other government departments.

The Governor assured both the recently elected legislators that their demands would be looked into and urged them to continue sustained pursuit of development issues in their respective Constituencies.
