The group is currently on the seventh day of their strike at Ladakh Bhawan in New Delhi, pressing the Government of India to resume dialogue with Ladakh’s leadership over crucial demands, including Statehood and the implementation of the 6th Schedule for Ladakh.
Expressing concern over the deteriorating health of many participants in New Delhi, the Apex Body warned that the responsibility for any unfortunate outcome will rest with the Government. The group has urged the central authorities to urgently resume discussions on Ladakh’s demands, before the situation worsens further for those on strike.
The ‘Pad Yatras’ and hunger strike in Leh will symbolize the region’s continued commitment to these pressing demands and highlight the growing urgency for action from the Indian Government.
