Leh coldest with minus 15 degree Celsius

Srinagar Dec 31: The night temperatures across Kashmir remained subzero with Leh town the coldest in the region at minus 15.2 degree Celsius while the day temperature in the Valley were above normal.
Srinagar city recorded the minimum temperature of minus 3.6 degrees Celsius last night.  The day temperature settled at 10  degrees Celsius, 2.1  degrees above normal.
The mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 4 degrees Celsius.  The day temperature settled at 10.2 degrees Celsius, 2.3 degrees above normal.
Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 2.7 degree Celsius.  The day temperature settled at 9.5 degrees Celsius, 3.2 degrees above normal.
Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius last night. The day temperature settled at 11 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees above normal.
The mercury at the famous ski-resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir settled at a low of minus 5.0 degrees Celsius. The day temperature settled at 4.4 degrees Celsius, 2.7 degrees above normal.
The night temperature in Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 5.9 degrees Celsius.  The day temperature settled at 7.2 degrees Celsius, 1.5 degrees above normal.
Leh town recorded a low of minus 15. 2 degrees Celsius. The day temperature settled at 1.5 degrees Celsius.
The MET Office has forecast mainly dry weather in Kashmir for next few days.
