LEH, Oct 28: Chairman of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Dorjay Mutup, resigned from the post of Chairman this morning citing his health issues.
While submitting his resignation paper to Deputy Commissioner Anvy Lavasa this morning at her official residence in Circuit House, the outgoing Chairman was accompanied by senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu West Sat Pal Sharma.
As per the Hill Council Act, following the Chairman’s resignation, posts of all the Executive Councillors automatically get dissolved.
Later, while addressing a joint press conference at party office Leh, MLA Sat Pal Sharma flanked by MLC Chering Dorje and BJP district president Jamyang Tsering Namgyal said that Dorjay Mutup has not been keeping well and he himself decided to resign from the post of CEC.
MLC Chering Dorjay said that after consulting the party high command and all the councilors, new chairman will be elected soon but since the process of electing new chairman start from Ladakh Affairs it might take some times as it is Darbar movement time so in such situation Deputy Chairman will be appointed among sitting Executive Councillor shortly to run the Hill Council.
