DODA, Mar 16: A leopard that entered village Kilhotran here today was captured alive in a joint operation by officials from Forest Department, Wildlife Department along with Police with the help of locals.
The operation was headed by Range Officer Bhallessa, Suresh Jamwal and SHO Gandoh, Inspector Parvaiz Khanday under the supervision of DFO Bhaderwah. The leopard was roaming in the residential area and was posing a threat to the lives of the people and their livestock.
“The beast tried to attack two people but failed and was captured alive without causing any damage or injury to anyone,” SHO Gandoh, Parvaiz Khanday said adding that a five hour long operation to capture the leopard ended successfully and the animal was dispatched to Kishtwar.
The people of the area appreciated the role of Police and Forest Department officials for capturing the beast from residential area.
