Leopard creates panic in Verinag village

Srinagar, Nov 22: Panic gripped in Umoh village of Verinag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district after locals spotted an injured leopard.
Locals told Excelsior that they spotted a leopard under a culvert in village and informed wild life authorities and police. “We told wild life officials to capture the leopard but they didn’t. Later we at our own tried to chase the leopard away from village but all in vain,” they said.
The leopard is still in the village in injured condition and it poses threat to the lives of the people here.
