MENDHAR, Dec 15: A leopard has created a terror at Basuni village in Balakote area of Mendhar.
Reports said that a full grown leopard entered Basuni village, close to the Line of Control (LoC) this afternoon. The villagers spotted the wild beast and ran towards their homes and locked themselves inside. Even they locked their children inside. The leopard remained moving in and around the village for about half an hour and then moved away after killing a goat.
The villagers contacted Police on phone and urged upon the Forest and Wild Life people to neutralize this leopard which has restricted their free movement in the area. About half a dozen cattle have been killed by this wild beast in last couple of days. It moved on both sides of the LoC, the villagers said.
