JAMMU, Feb 14: Panic gripped Nagrota area here today after a leopard was spotted inside a school building.
A police spokesperson said some locals noticed the animal within the fence of Sainik School Nagrota around 9:30 pm on Wednesday and informed police.
Accordingly, he said, a team of Nagrota Police Station reached at the spot and informed Wildlife Department as well.
“Our team is on the spot but so far they’ve not traced the animal,” Wildlife Warden/Additional Director Jambu Zoo, Anil K Atri told the Excelsior.
“Sighting of wildlife animals around Sainik School area is quite common as they take this route to reach Tawi to quench their thrust. It might be possible that the animal has disappeared back into the forest after drinking the water,” he said.
