China raising three mobile towers close to the LAC but well within its territory in Ladakh sector must definitely be a cause of concern to this side but principally any country in the neighbourhood doing it within its own territory cannot be disputed but prudence and good neighbourliness are considerations which dictate keeping a more reasonable distance than a close one and that too, presumably intentionally in the instant case, which can best be ”equated” and rather responded to by raising similar towers by our side too since we cannot do anything else than that.
Of late, the country has started developing the infrastructure of our border areas in a planned way while our twin neighbours have been doing it regularly though quite impudently. So, the scenario infers that we should go ahead with raising 4-G mobile towers in villages close to the border and send the desired message across besides catering to the needs of our border residents which means ”doing a China” on our side too because in it, we should have taken the initiative beforehand and not allowed the belligerent neighbour do it first. Not only in defence matters but in others too like the one under reference, on and near borders, the principles of compatibility and parity need to be maintained. That the hostile neighbour raised such towers which has virtually no habitation and thus the towers actually not required for its village people means more than meets the eye but let the country reciprocate in our own way and convenience.
