JAMMU, Nov 10: Jagmeet Kour Bali, Chairperson, All Sikh Minority Employees Association and All Employees Joint Association Kashmir (M) today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan.
Subsequently, delegations of Jewellers Association Jammu and Swarnkar Sangh Jammu City also called on the Lt Governor at Raj Bhawan.
A delegation of Sikh Coordination Committee Jammu Kashmir led by its Chairman, Ajit Singh called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, at Raj Bhawan today.
The members of the delegation submitted a charter of demands highlighting the concerning issues of the Sikh community living in the UT. They also put forth several demands pertaining to inclusion of eligible Sikh population in Pahari ethnic group, promotion of Punjabi language and installation of statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh at Srinagar.
Lt Governor assured the members of the delegation that appropriate action will be taken to redress the issues projected by them during the interaction.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today flagged off the second Mobile Sanskrit Gurukul of Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, at Raj Bhawan here.
On the occasion, the Lt Governor extended his felicitations and commended Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust and everyone associated with the initiative for their constant efforts to popularize Sanskrit language and timeless wisdom of Sanskrit scriptures.
Mobile Sanskrit Gurukul is a part of the “Sanskrit in Every Household’ Campaign for the promotion of Devavani Sanskrit in Jammu Kashmir.
A vehicle for the Mobile Sanskrit Gurukul has been provided by Rakesh Gandotra, Chairman, SD Memorial Educational Trust.
Mahant Rohit Shastri, president, Shri Kailakh Jyotish & Vedic Sansthan Trust; Trustees and members of the Trust including RK Chhibber; Dr Vishav Gupta, Jagdev Singh Chib, Uttam Chand Sharma; Rajeev Sharma; Parmod Sharma; Rakesh Gandotra, Naresh Raina, Pawan Khajuria and others were present.
