JAMMU, Nov 15: LG Electronics India, today announced the first local round of its Pan-India campaign, LG Mallika-e-Kitchen 2014, a cooking contest in its sixth season. The first round was hosted in Spice Food Court.
With around 4000 participants, this year’s campaign will reach women in around 62 cities across the country. The cooking contest has been conceptualized to provide an opportunity to Indian women to showcase their cooking talent at a national level.
In the first round, Rekha Mahajan was announced as the winner for the city round. The whole event was judged by Head Chef of Moti Mahal Restaurant, Nirmal Singh. He really appreciated the affects of LG Electronics.
The winner will be awarded 100% cash back* for the microwave oven purchased and she will be eligible to participate in the respective zonal rounds. Finally, three winners from each four zonal rounds will compete against each other in the Grand finale to be held in December 2014.
Commenting on the occasion, Rajeev Jain, Sales Head-Home Appliances, LG India said, “Mallika-e-Kitchen has become one of LG’s strongest consumer campaigns in India and in the past five years we have received tremendous response from our customers from every part of India. This unique initiative has further helped LG consolidate its undisputed market leadership in Indian Microwave Oven market.”
Jain said that with this year’s LG Mallika-e-Kitchen, we want to take the contest to another level, with higher marketing budgets, bigger participation and a more personalized approach, to raise further awareness and reach every Indian kitchen. So far, we have received amazing response from participants and we have shortlisted 3685 contestants to be a part of the regional rounds, he added.
“Apart from being a platform to recognize the amateur chefs, the aim of LG’s Mallika-e-Kitchen Season 6 is also to educate and inform Indian homemakers about the importance of healthy food and the benefits of adopting microwave ovens for cooking”, he said.
