LEH, Apr 2: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brig (Retd.) BD Mishra Sunday took part in the Special Sainik Sammelan at Gwalior Military Station in Madhya Pradesh.
Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised the need for discipline, probity and the ‘Nation first’ spirit among the officers and troops during his address on the occasion.
He advised the officers and troops to prepare themselves for defeating the Nation’s enemies and, if need be, for the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the Nation and the honour of their Battalion and the Regiment.
He also paid rich tributes to the glory of the 18th Battalion of the Madras Regiment (Mysore) and laid wreath at the War Memorial. The LG also inspected the Unit Quarter Guard and laid wreath at the 7 Madras War Memorial at Gwalior in a solemn ceremony.
The LG Ladakh, Brig (Retd.) Mishra, was commissioned in Madras Regiment in 1961 and he commanded the 7th Battalion of the Madras Regiment (7 Madras) on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Pooch Sector against the Pakistan Army.
