Leh, May 28: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, chaired a meeting to review the status of the saturation of 13 flagship schemes in Ladakh, at Raj Niwas today.
The concerned secretaries provided updates on the progress of flagship schemes of the Government of India, viz. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-Urban, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-Grameen, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Pradhan Mantri Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMSNY), Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA), Bharat Net (OFC), Soil Health Card, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Atal Pension Yojana and PM Street Vendor’s Atma Nirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi). They also provided updates on the total number of registered beneficiaries and the total number of beneficiaries who have availed the benefits of the flagship schemes to date.
Commissioner Secretary Ajeet Kumar Sahu shared that 37 percent of the households in Ladakh have been provided Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) under the Jal Jeevan Mission to date. Principal Secretary Dr Pawan Kotwal shared issues faced by them such as lack of high-speed internet connectivity and incorrect name and other relevant information of the beneficiaries in issuing Golden cards to the beneficiaries.
LG directed to procure VSAT vehicles at the earliest and look at options such as requesting OTPs on emails instead of mobiles for the registration of beneficiaries for the Golden card.
Principal Secretary Dr Pawan Kotwal shared that 27 villages in Leh and Kargil have been surveyed using the drone and 474 property cards have been issued to beneficiaries in Leh and Kargil to date. He shared about the progress to map abadi deh areas of 243 villages in Ladakh using drones to create geo-referenced maps for the issuance of property cards. He further apprised about the establishment of more Continuous Operating Reference Stations (CORS) by Survey of India (SoI) in Ladakh to expedite the process of issuance of property cards/SVAMITVA cards.
LG Mathur inquired about the possibility of increasing the abadi deh area in Ladakh so that the survey of these areas could be conducted using drones simultaneously.
LG asked the concerned secretaries to ensure that the saturation targets set by the Government of India for these flagship schemes are achieved at the earliest and definitely within this financial year.
Meanwhile, Lt Governor flagged off the advance life support ambulance, mobile medical units and supervisory vehicles from Sonam Norboo Memorial (SNM) Hospital, Leh, today.
Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Adv Tashi Gyalson; Member of Parliament, Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal; Principal Secretary, Dr Pawan Kotwal; Commissioner/Secretary, Transport, Saugat Biswas; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse; Director Health Service, Ladakh, Dr Motup Dorje; Mission Director, National Health Mission, Dr Iftakhar Ahmed Chowdhry; Chief Medical Officer, Leh, Dr Nurzin Angmo; Medical Superintendent, SNM Hospital, Dr Tsewang Chorol and medical staff were present during the flag off ceremony.
LG stated that the mobile medical units would help to screen the public health to detect diseases such as blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, etc, and provide health facilities to them, especially the people residing in remote areas of Ladakh. He further stated that the mobile medical units would enable to monitor the health status and disease burden of the people of Ladakh and facilitate in providing medical facilities at the Health and Wellness Centres, SNM Hospital in Leh and District Hospital in Kargil based on the needs of the people of Ladakh.
