LG Ladakh virtually inaugurates additional block of Kargil House

SRINAGAR, Apr 8: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), virtually inaugurated the Additional Block of Kargil House in Bemina, Srinagar.
The 3,878 square foot block is a multi-storey, disabled-friendly building, costing Rs 7.876 crores, and includes a multipurpose hall, dining hall, kitchen, 16 bedrooms, four VIP rooms and two dormitories capable of housing up to 60 people.
The Lieutenant Governor praised the completion of the construction in record time and without wasting any funds, emphasizing the need for continued development of facilities for the people of Ladakh.
He also spoke about the upcoming New Capitol Complex in Leh, which will offer modern facilities for the public.
The Lieutenant Governor emphasized the need to prioritize education, health, trade, and sports and to envision facilities that future generations can utilize. He also discussed the need to renovate and improve old buildings at Kargil House in Srinagar and Jammu, highlighting the request for a dispensary and medical staff made by the Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal.
The Lieutenant Governor called for the creation of Departmental Boards to address issues and take necessary measures in the field of education, health, administrative structure, and security for the benefit of the people of Ladakh.
He highlighted the need for water management, plantation drives, and zero-emission projects in Ladakh to become carbon-neutral, as well as the protection of Pashmina wool, a valuable asset of the people of Ladakh.
Finally, the Lieutenant Governor called for a corruption-free and delay-free Ladakh, and encouraged cooperation from Hill Councils, PRIs representatives, and officials.
Chairman, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan, expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for funding projects that benefit the people of Ladakh, highlighting the accommodations available to patients, Haj pilgrims, and students in Jammu, Srinagar, and Delhi.
Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, expressed gratitude for the Additional Block at Kargil House and called for a dispensary and ambulance facility for the convenience of patients.
Advisor, Umang Narula, praised the officials from PW(R&B) Kargil for completing the construction of the Additional Block of the Kargil House in Srinagar in a short time and highlighted the funds allocated by the Administration for various development projects in Ladakh and outside Ladakh.
