LG meets various delegations

LEH, Jan 8: Sarpanch and Panch of Hemis-Shukpachan called on LG Mathur today.
The delegation apprised the LG that even though most villages, except Yagthang and Ulay in their area have BSNL network connection but it does not support internet facility and hence the students in that area are deprived of online classes being provided by their schools and colleges. They requested LG Mathur to look into the matter for redressal.
The delegation also requested the LG to allot a Common Service Centre in Sham region stating that amidst the pandemic the old citizens from their area are unable to come to the Leh CSC to avail the Golden Card facility under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
Meanwhile, Director of Ladakh Rigjung Public School met LG Mathur. The Director apprised the LG that the Kargil branch of Rigjung Public School has almost 400 students but the school was operating from a rented building. He requested the LG for allotment of land for the school in Baroo region of Kargil.
LG Mathur stated that the issues will be referred to the concerned departments for redressal.
