LG monitoring Ramban situation

JAMMU, Apr 26: Lt Governor Manoj Sinha is personally monitoring situation following land subsidence on Ramban-Gool Road yesterday.
According to sources, LG Sinha is in constant touch with authorities and also discussing with experts to identify the reason of land subsidence as it’s not clear as of now.
Further, shifting of the affected families and settling them at safer place besides providing immediate relief are being taken on priority, they said.

As already reported, an incident of land subsidence had occurred yesterday at 7:00 pm at KM 5 (on Ramban to Gool Road) and inhabitations, uphill and downhill from the said point in village Pernote- A, Ramban.
In this incident, 30 houses have been completely damaged while 20 houses are partially affected and 10 more houses are likely to be affected, if the land sinking in the said area continues.
The administration has made adequate safety and security measures for the affected areas and the people living in these areas, including stranded people. The affected families, comprising about 350 souls, are being provided food, healthcare, tents, toilets, bedding etc. All requisite arrangements are in place, the sources said.
