LGs, CDS to attend today; Rajnath, Dr Jitendra to join tomorrow

North Tech Symposium from Monday

JAMMU, Sept 10: Three days North Tech Symposium will start tomorrow at IIT Jammu in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Ladakh LG Brig (Retd) BD Mishra, Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan and Vice Chief of Army Staff besides other top Army Commanders and arms dealers from across the globe.
The North Tech Symposium will be held on September 11, 12 and 13.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh will visit the Symposium and address it on September 12.
Besides the CDS and Vice Chief of Army Staff, four other top Army Commanders including Northern Command chief Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi will also be present.
“Prominent arms dealers from across the globe will join,” the officials said.
The symposium will be inaugurated tomorrow followed by an exhibition by various vendors, the officials said.
In addition to addressing the North Tech Symposium, the Defence Minister will also inaugurate 90 projects constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) physically and virtually from Devak river in Samba district.
The symposium will facilitate a structured approach to product evaluation, prioritization, and acquisition while contributing actionable inputs for procurement plans, the officials said.
The North Tech Symposium, which began in 2005 as a blend of equipment, ideas, innovation, and display, has since shifted its focus towards promoting cutting-edge defence technology and self-reliance.
“This year’s North Tech Symposium will be a bigger leap in reinforcing endeavours to close the gap towards desires,” the officials said.
