Many problems in Ward No. 22

JAMMU: Insanitary conditions, damaged street lights, deplorable condition of parks and dilapidated condition of lanes and drains are the main issues which the residents of Ward Number 22 are facing.
“The insanitary condition in our ward needs immediate attention as it is the issue to be redressed on priority due to fear of breaking out of health related problems”, resident said, adding that more manpower is required to tackle this insanitary issue.
The issue of dilapidated condition of the lanes and drains also came to fore while interacting with the residents, to which they asserted that they have elected a dedicated Municipal Corporator, who will sort out the issue in the shortest possible time.
“Shortage of drinking water is the most important issue to be redressed on priority basis. Without water, we can’t do our routine work including cooking and washing, etc”, Sushma Sharma said.
The ward comprised Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar, Dudhadari Mandir, Small Plots Gandhi Nagar, Cremation Ground Shastri Nagar and several others surrounding areas.
“We face numerous issues during morning and evening walks in the parks in our Ward. The park should be developed for the benefit of masses especially children”, a group of morning walkers said.
Damaged street light is also main issue in this Ward, which needs immediate attention and darkness during evening hours creates problems for the people particularly ladies.
“For the past several years, the street lights installed in this Ward have not been repaired. Repair work of the street light should be carried out with immediate effect for the security of the women folk residing in this ward”, Munish Gupta said.
When contacted newly elected Corporator of the Ward from BJP party, Jaideep Sharma asserted that people have given him mandate and it is his duty to redress all the issues in his Ward whether it is water scarcity, power fluctuation or any other issues.
Regarding the development of the parks, Sharma said, “I will get the parks renovated through concerned department in the shortest possible time with all facilities including tracks for morning and evening walkers, washroom, etc.
On the subject of sanitation issue, he said that a check will be kept on the working of Safai Karamchari and every tool will be provided to them to keep the Ward neat and clean. The issue of appointing more Safai Karamcharis will be taken up with JMC Mayor.
“A full fledged library will be established in the ward for which the land has been identified. Library will be established for the benefit of the old age persons”, he asserted.
“I joined BJP party in 1987 and since then I am working on the ideology of the party. I worked on various posts including Ward President, Mandal President, District Secretary, General Secretary, etc. In every State and parliamentary elections, I would aware the masses about the policies of the BJP party”, he said, adding that people have elected me and I will work to redress their issues on priority basis.
