JAMMU, Feb 28: Life Insurance Agents Federation of India, Srinagar Division held a protest in front of Divisional Office at Panama Chowk here.
During the protest, agents from all branches of Srinagar Division took part and highlighted the demands in front of Senior Divisional Manager for forwarding their demands to the Chairman of LIC of India.
The protestors highlighted demands, including removal of TDS from all policies, removal of Service Tax, removal of Section 44 of Agents Rules 1972, increase in gratuity and improvement in service for policy holders. They also demanded attractive bonus for policy holders, improved services with a smile for policy holders and agents, getting IRDA gazette notification implemented in case of commission which is beneficial for agents, welfare and provident fund for agents, more monitory benefits and group term insurance cover upto 75 years of age.
They also demanded terminal benefits for agents who are permanently disabled and productivity linked incentives for number of policies and new business.
They added that the management should respect the democratic rights of agents community and should hold talks with the national leadership of LIAFI to solve and implement long pending demands of agents community to boost the morale of agents.
