JAMMU, Jan 10: LIC employees here today observed ‘one hour walk-out strike’ preceding lunch recess across LIC offices of J&K in support of their long pending demands.
The protest was led by Federation of LIC Class-1 Officers’ Association led by its secretary, Vijay Khajuria; president, Jatinder Bhat; Development Officers under the banner of NFIFWI led by its president, Rakesh Magotra and LIC Class 3rd & 4th employees under the banner of Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association led by Divisional Secretary, Pawan Gupta and joint secretary, Rajesh Gupta.

This strike was observed by LIC employees all over India.
On this occasion, LIC employees held massive demonstrations at DO Cell Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion leaders of the protesting employees expressed resentment against central Government for not increasing Corporation’s contribution in NPS from 10 per cent to 14 per cent despite the fact that the LIC Board has already recommended it to the Ministry of Finance since long. The protesting employees stressed on negotiations on wage revision at the earliest as more than one year has already passed and the wage revision is still due.
Immediate recruitment in all cadres was also demanded. The leaders condemned unilateral attitude of the management and warned intensified agitation in reaction to it.
Similar protest was also held at DO Srinagar under the leadership of Amarjeet Singh, Syed Aadil, Prince Umar Raffique, Imitiaz Ah Kar, Ajaz Ah. Dar, Javed Bukhari and others.
Shreshtha Sharma, Priya Sharma, Shunali Gupta, Swati Sharma, Neeraj Bhagat, Raj Kumar Sharma, Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Gagan Langer, Rajesh Gupta, Rajesh Kumar, Raj Kumar, Dharminder Kumar, Nanak Chand and others also spoke on the occasion.
