LIC organizes seminar on Social Security

JAMMU, Oct 28: The Pension & Group Schemes (P&GS) Unit of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) today organized an awareness camp at office of CDPO Vijaypur in district Samba.
DSW Officer Samba, Jasmeet Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.
The focus of the seminar was Aam Admi Bima Yojana and Aaganwari Karayakarti Bima Yojana which provides Insurance Cover at a very low cost to people living under or marginally above poverty line.
While speaking on the occasion, Jasmeet Singh apprised the participants of the various social security group insurance products and its characteristics.
Branch Manager LIC of India, Chaitanya Sharma explained the benefits being provided through these schemes to the BPL and land less households. He said that Government has earmarked good budget for providing death and disability insurance cover to downtrodden and weaker section of the society.
CDPO Vijaypur, Bharti Sharma highlighted the benefits of the scheme and called upon the  supervisors of  Welfare Departments to avail maximum benefits of the scheme.
CDPO Samba, Babu Ram Tandon also spoke on the occasion and said that LIC is a big social organization which is helping the socially and economically weak. A very healthy interaction was observed during the course of the deliberations of the seminar, and participants showed keen interest and enthusiasm toward the various aspects of the scheme.
