SRINAGAR, Apr 20: Six more drugs were found sub-standard taking the number of such drugs in the State to 50. The Government has suspended license of 14 drug manufacturing companies while others have been served show cause notice and permission to take action and prosecute manufacturers of others companies is going on.
Fifty drugs were found substandard so far after Jammu and Kashmir High Court ordered random sampling of drugs last year following expose of spurious drug scam.
The Central Drug Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has received fresh reports of 22 drug samples that were taken from Jammu and out of these six were found sub-standard.
The drugs that were found sub-standard are Orixim-100 (Ceftrine Trihydrate tab) manufactured by M/s Beta Drugs Pvt Ltd, HP; Hope-I (Clonazepasi Tab IP), manufactured by M/s RKG Pharma Pvt Ltd, Faridabad, Activa-S (Diclofenac Sodium and Serrahopeplidage Tab), manufactured by M/s Acme Formulations Pvt Ltd, Solan HP, Rapidon-2 (Resperdon Tab), manufactured by M/s RKG Pharma Pvt Ltd, Mathura, Faridabad, Divalmed-E (Divalprox Sodium Tabs-IP), manufactured by M/s Protech Biospharma Pvt, Lassipora Pulwama and Doflam-SP (Aceclofenac, Paracetamol and Serratiopeptidase Tabs), manufactured by M/s Unison Pharmaceuticals, Baddi HP.
Earlier 44 drugs were found sub-standard by the testing Laboratories of Kolkata and Chandigarh.
