Light Snow Over Higher Reaches, Rains In Plains During Next 24 Hours: MeT

SRINAGAR, Oct 9: The Meteorological Centre on Tuesday predicted light snow over higher reaches with rain and thunder at scattered places during the next 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir.
The MeT office said the weather will remain generally cloudy with rain and light snow at a few higher reaches and thunder at scattered places of Kashmir valley and isolated places of Jammu division during the next 24 hours.
It said the weather will remain generally cloudy with the possibility of a spell of light rain at isolated places on October 10 and thereafter the weather is expected to remain dry till October 15.
Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley observed cold breezy weather conditions on Tuesday amid an overcast sky forcing people to wear warm clothes.
Barring the famous ski resort of Gulmarg, the night temperature recorded during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday was above normal across the Kashmir valley.
The minimum temperature recorded at Gulmarg was 7.2 degrees Celsius and it was 2.5 degrees Celsius below normal for the tourist destination in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
