Limit Holidays

Sir,
The J&K Govt should  restrict the number of gazetted holidays in Govt Departments. J&K has around 45 gazetted holidays, the maximum in  India. Government servants are also provided two restricted holidays. All Sundays make over a hundred holidays. Even during festival months, just 15-16 working days remain, diminishing the output of employees and creating a hurdle in the path of economic growth. An employee gets salary for working a full month, but in reality he/she works on an average of around 20 days only. This also makes it inconvenient to people who visit Govt offices for their work. The UP Govt has done well to keep Govt schools open on the birth/death anniversaries of freedom fighters and renowned persons, to make students aware of their life and goals. We must also follow the same culture. If the Govt cannot reduce  the no. of Gazetted holidays, it should pay employees on an hourly basis.
Yours etc…
