JAMMU, Oct 11: In continuation to its series of projects to help the flood affected people of the State, the Lions Club Jammu Royal today handed over medicines worth Rs 5 lakh to Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ajit Kumar Sahu who is also the district Chairman of Red Cross Society.
The Lions Club Jammu Royal in its endeavor to provide relief had earlier in the week distributed 500 double bedded blankets, dry ration and 1000 items of clothes to 400 plus resident families of village Macaw of Mandal Phallan in presence of MLA Ch. Sukhnandan.
The medicines comprising of 15000 strips of anti biotic, painkillers, anti diarrhea etc, will help in mitigating the sufferings of medically diabled flood effected people of J&K.
Prominent Lions Club members who were instrumental in organizing this relief effort included Ajay Kapoor, Sanjay Nagpal, Yudhvir Sethi (senior BJP leader) Anil Gupta and Sanjeev Soni.
