SAMBA, Nov 10: A free eye check up camp was organized by the Lions Club. The camp was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Samba Anuradha Gupta.
On this occasion, SSP Samba, Abhishek Mahajan, Municipal Council President, Pawan Kohli, Lions Club district president, Mandeep Singh Sambyal, Rajput Sabha’s district president, Inder Singh and many other members of social organizations were also present.
Many patients were examined in the camp and those who have been diagnosed for operation their surgeries will be performed tomorrow at District Hospital Samba. The Club’s district head Mandeep Sambyal said “Our organization has organized such camps twice a year for the last several years and in this two-day process, all the facilities for the patients medicine, food and stay are made by the Lions Club” .
While appreciating the Ayushman Bharat scheme run by the Central Government, he said most of the people in our district have got their health benefits and operation done by taking advantage of the scheme, but still those who want to take advantage of this camp are welcome. Till evening, around 80 patients have been examined in the camp. Besides the DH Samba, Eye specialists have also come from the rest of the hospital who examined the patients. Free medicines were also given to the patients who were not operated on the occasion.
While praising the institution, Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Anuradha Gupta said that the district administration has always praised such people who work for the betterment of the society.
