RAJOURI, Oct 2: The police has arrested a shopkeeper after recovery of consignment of illegally smuggled liquor from his shop in Rajouri area today.
An official spokesman said that a police team headed by SHO Rajouri, Aejaz Ahmed Wani, under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters, Mudassir Hussain raided a shop at Bathuni alongside Jammu- Rajouri- Poonch highway in Rajouri.
The shop belonged to Chaman Lal, son of Bhagat Ram, resident of Bathuni. During search 67 bottles of illegally smuggled liquor were recovered from his shop which have been seized and the accused selling the liquor arrested. A case FIR No. 461/23 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act has been registered against the accused, police said.
