JAMMU, May 3: Police today arrested a bootlegger and recovered a large quantity of illicit liquor, which was being smuggled into holy town of Katra, the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
The accused had been identified as Mubarak Hussain son of Mir Hussain, a resident of village Dhanua, Pouni.
He was smuggling the liquor in vehicle No. 1370 JK14B.
Police parties headed by SHO Katra Inspector Pradeep Gupta made the arrest.
A case has been registered against the accused at Katra police station.
