List old cases in vacations: HC

JAMMU, May 9: Registrar General of J&K High Court has issued a circular regarding listing of old cases before the Judges during the part period of vacation time.
According to the circular, vide communication dated April 30, 2016, Chief Justice of India TS Thakur has desired whether judges of this High Court use at least a part of the vacation time to take up the old matters especially those in which people are languishing in the jails.
Keeping this in view, Chief Justice of J&K High Court N Paul Vasanthakumar has taken a decision for listing the old matters before the Judges during the part period of the vacation time. The members of Bars have been requested to provide the numbers of the old cases, which they intend should be heard during the vacation time along with consent letter in original of all the counsel appearing in such cases to Registrar Judicials of the concerned wing within one week.
