JAMMU, Oct 2: A live Cancer Awareness Workshop is being organized at Jammu by Lajwanti Bhagatnath Radiations of Hope (LBNRH), a cancer care foundation.
“The workshop will be held on sidelines of Crabecon Chaturth, their 4th Conference in succession. It will be first of its kind event in world where Oncologists, Speciatist Doctors/Administration and civil society will be together deliberating on issues related to Cancer”, said Dr Deepak Abrol, convener of Crabecon Chaturth and Crabethon-Teleoncothon.
He said the Conference is scheduled on 6th and 7th of October. Live Cancer Awareness Workshop will begin at 12 noon on 6th and will be for 24 hours at stretch till 12 noon on 7th October. A dummy studio will be created and through various social media channels people can interact live with panel of experts in studio from where live streaming will be done.
Dr Abrol told that more than 50 Oncologists from all over India will be deliberating on various topics of Cancer awareness. People can connect on LBN Radiations of Hope Facebook page, Twitter handle, a specially created YouTube channel ‘Crab Drishti’ and can also connect on website www.lbnrohcancare.org. to ask questions to the specialists.
He said the main motive of this event is to aware the public that about 60 percent of cancer is preventable and adopting health life style, leaving tobacco and controlling HPV and HBV through vaccination programmes can reduce cancer load.
“It will be for first time that a panel of experts will be available round the clock for 24 hours at stretch to answer questions of public”, he said, adding, people, organizations and groups can come forward to support this fund raising event for poor patients.
Those present on the occasion were Amit Sharma, Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Jammu; Arun Chowdhary, president, Arya Samaj; Sandeep Mengi, MD, Centre for Eye Sight and Marathon man of Jammu, Gaurav Gupta (secretary, CCI Jammu), who is also Brand Ambassador of Crabethon.
