JAMMU, Oct 3: Security forces and police today defused a powerful Chinese grenade planted by the militants in civilian area of Baryoon Dhara under the jurisdiction of Thanna Mandi police station in Rajouri district.
Reports said a civilian Mohammad Shabir detected the Chinese grenade planted by the militants at Baryoon Dhara and alerted the villagers not to come close to it. He informed Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Thanna Mandi, Mujib-ur-Rehman, who rushed to the spot along with police teams.
Commanding Officers of 38 Rashtriya Rifles also visited the spot along with the troops.
Reports said the militants had opened pin of the grenade and kept it in the village.
