JAMMU, Sept 29: A live Chinese grenade was diffused by security forces in Thannamandi area of Rajouri district today, officials said.
On receiving information about the recovery of a live grenade in a river riverbed near Soura Bridge of Thannamandi area, they said, the Army was informed.
Acting promptly, the Army’s Bomb Disposal team reached at the spot and destroyed the grenade on-the-spot, ensuring the safety of the surrounding areas, officials said.
Meanwhile, authorities have initiated an investigation to find out how the grenade ended up in the area.
