Live shell seized in Samba

JAMMU, Sept 27: A powerful live shell was today recovered from forward village of Chechwal in Samba sector this morning and would be defused tomorrow.
Reports said a farmer Sat Pal Singh son of Omar Singh discovered the shell while digging land in his fields for cultivation at Chechwal in Samba sector this afternoon. He immediately informed the Border Security Force (BSF).
A BSF team reached the spot and cordoned off the area. An Army team would take the shell in its custody tomorrow and defuse it at an isolated place.
The border village of Chechwal had come into limelight recently after a long tunnel dug inside the Indian territory by the Pakistan authorities from their side was detected in the village.
Few days back, Pakistani Rangers had opened firing on men and machinery engaged by the BSF for detecting tunnel between border fencing and Zero Line.
